“A constitution, as important as it is, will mean nothing unless people are yearning for liberty and freedom.”

  • Become a Democratic Precinct Committeeperson

Precincts are small geographical areas (approximately 40 houses). The precinct committeeperson is elected by geographical area during the primary or appointed by their party’s County Chair to fill vacant precinct spots. The next election is May 2026. To appear as a candidate, you must file (using the newest version of the CAN-37 form) your candidacy by noon on Friday February 6, 2026 with the local county election board.

The precinct committee person is the local party contact. They are responsible for canvasing the geographical area, welcoming new neighbors and providing information to update their voter registration, attending the county party convention, and voting in special elections known as a caucus.
